    The Account Manager is primarily responsible for managing a specific customer’s construction programs through three major phases: Development, Planning and Execution.

     

    The Account Manager supervises other project team members engaged in planning, implementing and administering all project elements. This encompasses:

    • Validating project scope, goals, and milestone objectives, margins and budgets.
    • Planning project timelines and responsibilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to proficiently perform all the functions and responsibilities of subordinate project management positions.
    • Ensuring that the project is appropriately permitted, customer and landlord approved, and executed on schedule.
    • Ensuring that accurate billing and receivable collection occurs.
    • Overnight travel to customer locations for planning, periodic review, and closeout meetings is required.

    Responsibilities

    Project Definition and Development Phase:

    • Attends initial planning meetings with the Director of Construction, Icon Sales Representative and customer to validate the project strategy, scope, and implementation approach.
    • Develops detailed project task list, timeline, and responsibilities.
    • Coordinates cost budget development with Estimating.
    • Validates final prices for products and services. Validates pricing with Director of Construction.
    • Validates terms of the final contract.
    • Assists the Director of Construction to prepare the customer proposals and participate in presentation to customer as required.

     

    Project Planning Phase:

    • When project is awarded, assembles a project team to perform project administration and implementation functions and tasks in accordance with Icon project management procedures.
    • Finalizes the execution plan including all tasks, timelines and responsibilities.
    • Implements internal and customer status reporting formats and procedures.

     

    Project Execution Phase:

    • Manages approved changes to the original project scope.
    • Ensures that project team members execute their assigned tasks in a timely and proficient manner.
    • Resolves task variances and customer-raised issues on a timely basis before they destabilize the project.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Directly supervises Project Management team assigned to project. Performs supervisory responsibilities according to Icon’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees and evaluating employee performance; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Icon’s business practices, policies, and process workflows.
    • Develops and trains project team members regarding Icon’s project management policies, and process workflows.
    • Leads face-to-face meetings with customers, sub-contractors, vendors, team members, and Icon support services as required.
    • Confronts project problems and variances quickly and directly. Identifies all key project issues, performs cause and effect analysis, isolates problems, and implements appropriate solutions.
    • Systemically structures project tasks, develops and evaluates priorities, sets priorities, meets deadlines.
    • Demonstrates continuous self, team, and process improvement.
    • Remains calm in stressful situations; exercises professionalism and self-control; always demonstrates respect for others.
    • Operates effectively in situations where relative ambiguity, chaos, and limited standardized solutions exist.

     

    Education and Experience

    • Holds Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from Four‑year College or university. Construction Management and engineering majors preferred.
    • Demonstrates ability to collect, develop and present project information to sales management, customers, architects, developers, design firms, third-party project managers, designers, engineers, installation and construction sub-contractors, manufacturers, controllers, accountants, information technologists, and senior management.
    • Have ability to work with ERP and Project Management Software to manage project requirements.
    • Has demonstrated ability to use and create templates with MS Excel, Word, Access, Project, and PowerPoint.
