The objective of this position is to generate sales of Icon’s Maintenance Services to established and potential customers.   This position requires a broad knowledge of the organization’s services, products, and marketing techniques as well as expertise in commonly accepted sales practices and procedures.


  • Actively pursue and develop new business with national accounts as well as insure continuous service and increased sales to existing accounts.
  • Develop and pursue a market strategy to generate new business.
  • Cold call prospective customers, qualify and identify to drive sales activities.
  • Assume primary responsibility for all business relationships between Icon and account(s) assigned to him/her.
  • Make sales presentations using computer-based technology to potential customers.
  • Work with corporate end-user customers to coordinate national and regional rollout programs.
  • Coordinate with key decision makers and personnel to promote and maintain successful and profitable business relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Assure that appropriate technical guidance and assistance is available to customer.
  • Ability to clearly demonstrate the value proposition as influenced by changing legislation and new technology advancement (i.e., LED solutions).
  • Coach customer through project process (RFI & RFQ) and influence evaluation of proposals to put Icon in a favorable position.
  • Build relationship value by continuing to mine for unmet needs and linking them to other solutions within the broad Icon portfolio.
  • Communicate account status reports and any significant opportunities through sales activity reports as required.
  • Use CRM Tool to maintain competitive information, build a pipeline of opportunities and track results.
  • Represent Icon in all business transactions according to legal and ethical standards.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry gatherings to promote company products and services.

  • Monitor customer accounts receivable and assist in collection activities as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of competitors’ activities related to national accounts.
  • Recommend new or improved products or services to meet the needs of customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years in maintenance and/or lighting business/industry with application experience.
  • Ability to effective identify and qualify prospects in new market areas.
  • Self-starter; ability to work with little direction and within a team where the performance of others affects success.
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Results-driven with a sense of urgency and strong follow-up.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate customer needs and wants and to provide account coordination and leadership.
  • Strong business computer skills and fluency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
