This position is a great fit for any student pursuing a career in a corporate environment, specifically in the field of Human Resources. The Temp HR Coordinator will work side-by-side the HR Generalist gaining exposure to various aspects of HR, including but not limited to recruiting, employee relations, benefit management, and compliance. In this role, students will also gain experience working in a corporate environment, learning everything from how to work the copier to collaborating with internal teams.

Icon is a brand implementation and maintenance company servicing Fortune 500 clients nationwide. Of 400 employees, 150 are based at our headquarters in Rolling Meadows, IL. 


  1. Conduct phase 1 of the screening process for candidates in Icon’s Applicant Tracking System, iCIMS (75%)
    • Review resumes and evaluation responses for candidates in iCIMS
    • Send qualified applicants to the assigned Recruiters
  2. On-Boarding and Off-Boarding Employees (15%)
    • Office introductions
    • Drafting new hire announcements
    • Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews with employees
  3. Foster a positive culture (5%)
    • Assist HR Generalist with planning and preparing for company events such as summer picnic, volunteer opportunities, potlucks, etc.
  4. Misc. tasks (5%)
    • Assist HR Generalist with miscellaneous tasks including but not limited to:
      • Send mail to employees
      • Research policies/procedures using HR’s various resources such as SHRM, MRA, KellerOnline, etc.


  • GPA of 3.2 or above
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a close team environment
  • Organized and efficient; strong attention to detail
  • Possesses flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities
  • Above average verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Able to stay positive and enthusiastic while managing multiple priorities
