The Financial Analyst assists the program management team with customer margins and inventory management. Ensuring that the margins are reviewed and analyzed prior to the job being invoiced, making sure that billing has been completed for all work performed.   The ideal candidate is organized, impeccable with details, has excellent phone manners, and strong verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

 

  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices.
  • Manage open subcontractor purchase orders.
  • Analyze monthly job cost margins (product and service margins).
  • Manage customer accounts receivable to keep below 60 days.
  • Key liaison to production through the program management group analyzing and managing profit margins and job cost actual gross margin goals set by the company.
  • Follow up on unfavorable variances in order to make corrections as needed.
  • Review aging of inventory by project (shipped not billed, finished goods, service, etc.).
  • Track and monitor weekly billing/revenue objectives.
  • Work with teams to ensure invoice packages are assembled correctly and sent out in a timely manner.
  • Manage cash projections.
  • Attention to detail and to customer/client needs required.
  • Audit Quarterly Physical inventory counts
  • Assist Accounting department in Customer margin analysis
  • Prepare annual audit reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

  • Two to four years of business experience with minor or additional classes in accounting.  
  • Computer literate and fluent in word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications, (MS Office products primarily).  Experience using computer-based project tracking systems to monitor project status preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills required.  
  • Ability to interface successfully with a dedicated team of customers and employees from Project Management, Sales, Production, Finance/Accounting, and MIS.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience is required.  Accounting or Business majors are preferred.
